Blue Plate was great to work with and very quick to respond with any questions. During our wedding day they showed up and setup so quick and seamlessly I barely knew they were there. The food was excellent, and the staff was all very friendly.

How Long is YOUR Food Chain?

Blue Plate Catering is shortening the distance from the farm to your banquet table!

Blue Plate Catering is dedicated to supporting the economic and environmental well-being of our local community. With this in mind, we make every effort possible to purchase locally-grown meat, dairy and produce from local coops and organizations right here in the Heartland. We are excited that our catering operations can be a source of support for our local farmers and their families. Here are some of the local vendors we work with:

  • Porchlight: sauerkraut, curtido, jams, scones, and pancakes.
  • Jones Dairy Farm: sausage, bacon, brats are incorporated in our breakfast and picnics.
  • Carr Valley: cheeses are included in our Specialty cheese displays.
  • Great River Organic Milling: steel cut old-fashioned oatmeal.

Produce:

fifthseasonlogoWe are equally excited to team up with Fifth Season Cooperative to provide local produce options year around! The Fifth Season Cooperative is a multi-stakeholder cooperative made up of producers, producer groups, food processors, distributors, and buyers from the Driftless Region. Their members represent all of the key players in the food system at the local level. Their goal is to build a robust regional food system that supports a healthy environment, a strong economy, and thriving communities.

Local fruits and vegetables abound during the summer and fall in Wisconsin. You will find an endless array available for your events. Surprisingly, even in the middle of winter in Wisconsin, there are fresh local produce options available, including Brussels sprouts, daikon radish, carrots, green kale, turnips, parsnips and other root vegetables.

Please contact us at Blue Plate Catering to see how you can incorporate local produce into your next catering event!
